Description:

The primary responsibility of the Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program is to investigate complaints made by or on behalf of residents of care facilities. These facilities include nursing homes, residential care facilities for the elderly (also known as board and care homes), and assisted living facilities.

Ombudsman representatives advocate for improvements in resident care and work to improve resident quality of life. They make a difference in the lives of residents and their families by visiting residents regularly, addressing and resolving quality of care and safety issues, training staff, families and residents on resident!€™s rights and abuse prevention, helping prevent inappropriate evictions, and more.
