Food Bank of SLO

?The mission of the SLO Food Bank is to work with a network of community partners to alleviate hunger in San Luis Obispo County and build a healthier community. Our Neighborhood Food Distributions are free to income-eligible recipients, open to the public, and strategically located in every community countywide. At these distributions, recipients can obtain a variety of foods, including bags of fresh produce, bags of shelf-stable food and meat. Additional food such as dairy products or bread are available depending on availability.

Partnering with Ride-On Transportation and Wilshire Community Services, the SLO Food Bank!€™s Senior Home Delivery program provides weekly grocery deliveries to low-income, homebound older adults facing food insecurity in San Luis Obispo county. Individuals are eligible if:
-They meet the income guidelines for the Emergency Food Assistance Program
-They are aged 60 and up
-They are homebound for any reason, including health and transportation restrictions and access barriers to our traditional services

Those without secure housing do not have access to the tools and appliances needed to prepare many of the foods commonly supplied through our regular distribution channel. To address these challenges, the SLO Food Bank worked with different community partners and local sponsors to begin the No-Cook Bags for the Homeless Program. No-Cook Bags are curated to meet the dietary needs of this program!€™s target participants using easy-to-eat foods such as peanut butter, dried fruit, and fortified cereals.
