Independent Living Resource Center (ILRC)

Description:

The Independent Living Resource Center (ILRC) is a private non-profit organization providing disability advocacy and independence increasing or maintaining services to Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo Counties. Also an Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC). We provide this support to individuals with all disabilities, all ages, and all income levels. Following the Independent Living Philosophy, our services are team-based; our consumers must be active participants in achieving their goals.
ILRC staff recruits, interviews, screens, and refers attendants who are able to provide personal care and other in home supportive services. Services include:

-Housing Navigation
-Personal Assistance
-Interpreting (ASL)
-Peer Support
-Assistive Technology
-Youth Transitions
-Older Individuals Who Are Blind (OIB)
-Advocacy
-Aging and Disability Resource Center
-Information and Referral
-Independent Living Skills Training
-Benefits Counseling (help applying for public benefits)
-Transitions (institutional setting to community-based living)
-Emergency and Disaster Preparedness Services
